Rush Coming To Atlantic Canada?

Rumours are still floating around that Rush will be playing somewheres in Atlantic Canada. The following was reported yesterday,
And then in late December I reported hearing that the band was in the process of nailing down dates for a 2010 tour to start in the late Spring, focusing particularly on first getting to places they missed on the last tour - like South America and Atlantic Canada. I've just received more information which corroborates this; the band plans to tour South and North America in 2010 with an extensive Canadian leg including Atlantic Canada.
I suspect, Halifax will be the choice location. But you never know, maybe there will be something also in the "hub" of the Atlantic provinces, Moncton?

Official Tour Dates are to be released by the end of this month, February. Read the full article on RushIsABand.com here.

Bell ExpressVu's "BellTV" iPhone App

I discovered Bell ExpressVu's "BellTV" iPhone App from an old co-worker @charlesjbarry (thanks Charles) the other day on Twitter. After hearing what it can do, I had to download it and try it out. Without a doubt, it is the best app that I have ever downloaded.

What does this app do, you ask? Well once you sign in using your online BEV's Username and Password, you can do everything except watch Live TV. You can setup your favourite channels, shows, and they will be presented to you in the "Now" section. Or you can browse the guide just like you were sitting in front of your TV.

But what the best feature is: it allows you to manage your PVR. Clicking on the "My PVR" tab (after successfully linking your receiver) you can see all of your pre-recorded shows that are sitting on the receivers HD. This is great cause you can delete shows remotely to clear up some space say if you were running low. Besides that, you can browse through the guide, select a show, and click the record button and it will start recording. So I could be out somewheres and if there was a show that I wanted to watch but forgot to set the timer, I could use this app and set it to record! Amazing!!!

I did notice some discrepancies with the "My PVR" setup procedure. In step 2 where they have, "Select System Setup (6), Installation (1), then Broadband Setup (9) this was incorrect for my 9242 receiver. Instead I had to go to: 6, 1, then 4. From there you will see the Broadband section. I had to go in here and click the "Reset" button because I had some issues at first getting my switch to work with my router. After I had the network issues fixed the App detected my receiver and the joy began, and hasn't stopped.

You can get the iPhone app from the iTunes store here. It was release on Valentines day. So I guess I owe Bell ExpressVU a big thank you.

Fredericton in Google Street View

Not sure when the data was made available, but Fredericton is now in Google Street View. I think Google made most cities in Canada available around the same time, which may have been in the last few days. If your new to Google Street View, click this link and then drag the little yellow guy over the area of interest. If it's available in Google Street View, it will turn blue.

Not all of the areas of Fredericton are available as of yet, there still seems to be some gaps around northside areas as well on the southside. Nonetheless, it's still very cool to be able to fly around virtually on our city streets.

I'm now on the hunt to find strange and funny things within the city. If you find something funny in the city, post the link in the comments.
